The Expanse Season 7: Will There Be Another Season to This Sci-fi Series?

The Expanse Season 7

Season 6 of The Expanse was the show’s final season, presented by Amazon Prime Video. Yet, this was not the first time the series has been canceled. Syfy shelved The Expanse after only three seasons, but Amazon stepped in and changed the whole thing with another 3 seasons, hence saving the beloved series from cancellation.

After three seasons on Prime Video, Amazon announced in November 2020 that The Expanse season 6 would be the final chapter, therefore ending all hopes for a The Expanse season 7. This was distressing news, as the Rocinante’s exploits had received acclaim from both fans and critics.

The Expanse Season 7: What Will Be the Storyline of the Series?

The Expanse Season 7 plot

The Expanse series finale brings the dramatic series – dubbed “Round of Thrones in space” at times, to what looks to be a happy conclusion. For almost as long as someone can recollect, it was unclear how the program would alter most of the books, and once the series was canceled by the SyFy Channel after Season 3, it appeared unthinkable that now the show would’ve been revived in any way.

When Amazon picked up the series for Season 4, it found new life, and now, with the conclusion of Season 6, it provides lengthy fans with an obvious and believable conclusion with few strings left hanging.

Earth has colonized Mars thousands of years from today, but Mars is now autonomous, and thus the two planets live in perpetual suspicion and anxiety. The inhabitants of the asteroid belt and the planet’s orbits are caught in the middle. The executive officer of a freighter, James Holden, observes his ship being destroyed by a Martian cruiser.

This inflames tensions between Earth and Mars, prompting Holden and the rest of his crew to embark on a journey across the solar system in search of knowledge behind the tragedy. Elsewhere, a police detective on Ceres in the Asteroid Belt is looking for the daughter of one of the System’s wealthiest men.

In an interview with Inverse, Holden actor Steven Strait remarked that doing Season 6 was “a consolation” since the actors and crew were “eager to conclude the tale which we’ve worked on for so long.” Strait also thinks the episode “nailed the conclusion” and “imaginatively gives the show the send-off it deserves.”

The Expanse Season 7 plot

Dominique Tipper, who portrays Naomi, expressed her belief that the show’s conclusion explained the much-maligned people who reside in the Asteroid Belt, the Belters, who do indeed transferability to the “inners,” those from inside planets like Mars and Earth.

Tipper said, “I believe it’s what the Belters deserve.” “Moreover, I believe it is what the fans deserve.” It’s what we all strive for as individuals, and there’s always some hope amid the darkness. Also, I’m glad we got that done because I think it’s accurate. It’s occasionally memorable and difficult that that exists. Additionally, I’m relieved we’ve completed that message rather than another.”

Wes Chatham and Nadine Nicole agreed with the other cast, but they also say the series’ conclusion is “clashing.”

“This is the first time I’ve contributed of this scale and sort,” Nicole adds, adding that the depth of the characters and the plot should ideally stay with people for a long time. “As storytellers, our goal is to change the way people tell stories by allowing people to live imaginatively through these personalities and reflect on their lives in order to feel more heard or understood.”

As of now, we don’t have any information about the storyline of the story.

The Expanse Season 7: Will the Series Be a Getting a Sequel?

The Expanse Season 7

Several have theorized about the possibility of a The Expanse Season 7 will be taken as sequel series, which is returning after a long gap. Because there is a 30-year timeline change between Babylon’s Ashes, a sixth book in the series, to Persepolis Rising, a seventh book in the series, there is more than enough space for this in the source material.

It’s unlikely that the actors and crew would wait 30 years to bring this program back, however, if they really were able to obtain funds to continue the tale five years from now, which will maintain audience enthusiasm remained—plausible.
