Child Molester Sentenced to Life in State Prison in California after Multiple Teen Victims Came Forward

A 62-year-old man from Tulare was given a life sentence in state jail for molesting a child. The sentence was delivered on Wednesday.

The DA for Tulare County says Rosario Valenzuela pleaded not guilty to two counts of lewd act upon a child under the age of fourteen. As a result of a similar sentence from 1998, Valenzuela admitted to the special charge that he was a repeat sexual offender.

Valenzuela also admitted to the extra charge that his crimes included sexual behavior that was sexual in nature. It is a strike crime for each count, which is a felony.

One of the crimes happened between December 24, 2013, and December 23, 2014, and it involved sexual attacks on a girl who was thirteen years old at the time.

A different female victim, between the ages of eleven and thirteen at the time of the sexual attacks, was the victim of another crime between December 1, 2014, and September 7, 2016.

Each of the sexual assaults took place in the City of Tulare. In addition, Valenzuela will have to keep registering as a sex offender for the rest of his life.

Valenzuela has to serve 25 years in prison before he can be considered for parole under California’s current sentencing rules.
