Trans Inmate in California Prison Molested Woman; Transferred to Male Facility after Multiple Allegations

A transgender prisoner who was charged with rape was taken out of a California women’s jail.

Tremaine Deon Carroll, 51, has been moved to a prison for men because he is being charged with two counts of rape and one count of “dissuading a witness from testifying.” This was first reported by the feminist news site Reduxx.

Jane Doe is one of Carroll’s claimed victims. She says she was raped and attacked in the shower at the Central California Women’s Facility in Chowchilla, which is about 150 miles southeast of San Francisco.

The criminal complaint also talks about a second accused victim who is not named. Carroll is now at Valley State Prison in Delano, which is only for men.

She has terrible nightmares about the claimed attack and can’t take a shower for days at a time. Basic hygiene is now a “trigger” that makes her remember how horrible her experience was.

Jane Doe, who is thirty years old and a little over five feet tall, was out on a short term for breaking into a house.

People who know about her case say that when she asked the jail staff to change her cell, she chose to stay with two other women prisoners and Carroll, who says she is transgender.

Court records show that Carroll was charged with theft and gun possession crimes as a minor in 1988 and 1989. Carroll was caught with guns while robbing, sexually assaulting, and snatching two women in 1990, when he was an adult.

Carroll was initially charged with three counts of “oral copulation,” which means forcing someone to have oral sex. However, these charges were later dropped.

Carroll was found guilty of only two counts of kidnapping and given a prison term of 10 years and 8 months. Carroll, who was 25 years old at the time, broke the law again after he got out of jail in 1998. He was arrested and found guilty of robbing a jewelry shop.

California’s “Three Strikes and You’re Out” law was triggered by that crime. This law says that people who have been convicted of three serious felonies must face harsher punishments.

Carroll was given a prison term of at least 25 years and up to life. He has been locked up ever since. She is now 51 years old, 6 feet 2 inches tall, and weighs about 200 pounds.

Carroll has thick black and gray stubble in her mugshots and says she is a trans woman, but she hasn’t had surgery to change her gender yet.

Jane Doe says Carroll started to show sexual interest in her as soon as he finished moving cells.
