Honk News (Dixon, Missouri) – A former Missouri teacher is set to respond next month to 19 allegations claiming she provided her underage students with cash, alcohol, and marijuana in exchange for sexual acts, and subsequently tried to intimidate them to conceal her actions.
Documents revealed that Carissa Smith secured a $100,000 bond late last month, a reduction from an earlier $250,000 bond established in November following her arrest on charges related to statutory rape and sex trafficking while serving as a substitute teacher at Dixon Middle School.
Smith is currently confined to her home as she prepares for a court appearance next month, where she will be required to enter a plea, according to court documents.
A 30-year-old substitute is confronting several serious felony charges, which encompass statutory rape, sex trafficking, statutory sodomy, sexual contact with a student, hindering the prosecution of a felony, and patronizing prostitution, as detailed in court records.
Multiple underage students reported to investigators that they engaged in sexual activities with Smith for monetary compensation, as detailed in a probable cause affidavit.

The affidavit reveals that Smith initiated the exchange of nude images via Snapchat with one of her purported victims prior to their subsequent sexual encounter. According to the affidavit, Smith reportedly engaged in sexual activities with several underage students, allegedly picking them up from their homes and having encounters at her residence while her husband was away for work or in her vehicle. The affidavit claims that she would purportedly take them to a field or the roadside, where she would pressure them into engaging in sexual acts.
According to the probable cause affidavit, Smith is said to have provided cash to multiple students or transferred funds through CashApp, and on certain occasions, he allegedly offered the underage individuals marijuana or alcohol. According to the affidavit, the students reported to police that the teacher supposedly instructed them to keep quiet about their sexual experiences, warning that she “would get into trouble” if they spoke out.
Smith is accused of having compensated her victims with a minimum of $100 on several instances for engaging in sexual activities with her.
Rumors reportedly circulated regarding Smith’s purported actions, prompting at least one student to contact her with a proposition for sexual favors in return for financial compensation. The affidavit reveals that the student in question was a year younger than Smith’s other purported victims; she reportedly informed that student they were “too young.”

A classmate approached another student, asking if they were interested in doing some work for pay. Following this, the student accompanied the friend to Smith’s residence, where they engaged in sexual activity with the teacher while the friend waited outside, according to the probable cause affidavit.
According to the affidavit, Smith’s brother-in-law discovered the ex-educator in bed with a minor after rumors circulated in the community about a video depicting her engaging in a sexual act with a student.
