Phoenix, AZ: A heartbreaking incident took the life of a pit bull who was sleeping when set on fire.

The Phoenix Police Department is looking for a person who is suspected of setting fire to a dog that was doused in gasoline and set ablaze at a residence in Phoenix earlier this week.

On Tuesday morning, at approximately 5:30 a.m., the incident took place at a residence located close to the intersection of 27th Avenue and Van Buren Street. The information provided by Silent Witness indicates that Duke, a pit bull/mastiff mix who was 16 years old at the time of his death, was sleeping quietly on a mattress in his garden when he was burned.

According to reports, Duke sustained terrible injuries and had to be put down subsequently.

Someone subjected him to torture. Stella McPhee, the dog’s owner, stated that the dog was only attempting to make the most of his remaining days.

McPhee is in a state of sadness due to the death of her guide. She came to Duke’s rescue twelve years ago. “He has a great deal of personality. All of the people liked him. He had a very warm and welcoming personality,” she remarked.

The green lining that had been covering her chain link fence is now permanently burnt, Duke’s bed has been set ablaze, and the shelter and swamp cooler that were present just a few days ago have been completely destroyed.

Not a typical individual would act in such a manner. It is really so heinous,” she remarked. It occurred while she was working at the time.
