Over 120 MPH Dodge Challenger, Hot Chase Ended with 1 Arrest in Monroe County

West Palm Beach, FL: In a high-speed chase that reached 102 mph, a 40-year-old man from West Palm Beach reportedly tried to get away from deputies and almost hit a deputy who was putting down spike strips.

As of Saturday morning, the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) said Jose Cervantes Barcenas was driving his Dodge pickup truck near Mile Marker 35 at 102 miles per hour (mph).

A report from the sheriff’s office said that Barcenas did not stop for MCSO officers but instead kept driving. Barcenas almost hit an officer on the side of the highway who was trying to put down spike stripes when he swerved his truck toward him.
