A man from Glocester has been detained without bail following his arrest on charges of child molestation last Thursday.
On June 27, Rhode Island State Police apprehended 49-year-old Kyle Delaney, who was subsequently handed over to the Glocester Police Department.
Glocester police have charged Delaney with one count of first-degree child molestation/sexual assault and three counts of second-degree child molestation/sexual assault, according to reports. According to authorities, the reported crimes occurred from 2015 to 2019, as stated by 12 News.
According to a biography on the National Training and Technical Assistance Center for Child, Youth, and Family Mental Health website, Delaney is described as a father who has personal experience with Child Protective Services. He is also a member of the Rhode Island Department of Children, Youth and Families (DCYF) Parent Advisory Board.

According to an email from a spokesperson for DCYF, Delaney was previously a member of the department’s birth parent advisory board but is no longer active in that role.
A spokesperson from the Rhode Island Department of Corrections informed 12 News that Delaney had been a contractor with RIDOC, involved in an inmate education program, until last Thursday. He is no longer allowed to access RIDOC’s facilities in his professional role as per WPRI News.
The spokesperson also mentioned that RIDOC’s Investigations Unit has been collaborating with Rhode Island State Police regarding the issue.
Delaney was arraigned on June 27 and is currently being held without bail until a status conference. The next court appearance is set for Tuesday, July 2nd.
