Los Angeles, CA: The authorities at Los Angeles International Airport confiscated a package inbound from the Netherlands which had 16 types of drugs including MDMA, and LSD.
A man from Gresham has been apprehended for his involvement in an illicit international package shipment, which contained a variety of illegal substances. Additionally, authorities discovered an extensive collection of over 16 different drugs and numerous firearms at his residence.
Court documents reveal that a package from the Netherlands was confiscated by U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at Los Angeles International Airport on Jan. 9. Riley James Hinds, 38, had placed an order using his alias “James Settler”.
The package contained approximately 2.5 pounds of MDMA, which is commonly referred to as ecstasy or molly. The package was transferred to Homeland Security in Portland for additional investigation.
Investigators discovered that Hinds had established a mailing box at a UPS store in Gresham using his alternate identity.
Investigators arrested Hinds on Jan. 26 and conducted a federal search warrant on his home. Authorities discovered and confiscated a wide range of drugs in Hinds’ residence, encompassing MDMA (ecstasy), Adderall, counterfeit Oxycodone, cocaine, ketamine, marijuana, psilocybin, ayahuasca, LSD, opium, morphine, DMT, mescaline, peyote, GHB, 5-MeO-DMT, and an assortment of unidentified pills.
During the investigation, law enforcement discovered and confiscated various drug processing tools and packaging materials. Additionally, they seized a total of 42 firearms, including four firearm suppressors, two unfinished ghost guns, and six sets of body armor.
Hinds made his initial appearance in federal court on Monday before a U.S. Magistrate Judge and was ordered to remain in custody.
