Man Arrested in Pennsylvania after Attacking Mother with Knife to Kill Her

A man was taken into custody by the Scranton Police Department after authorities alleged that he had hit his mother in the face and attempted to kill her with a knife.

There was a report of an attack that took place between a woman and her son on Saturday, July 6, and the Scranton Police Department was dispatched to the 800 block of Hickory Street to investigate the incident.

Officers met with Mary Ruhle, who stated that her son, William Zawicki, who is 47 years old, awakened her up by choking her and then punching her repeatedly. This information is provided in the affidavit.

According to the authorities, Zawicki then grabbed a knife and attempted to cut her throat while telling her, “It’s all her fault.” He also claimed that she did not protect him during a recent disagreement that he had with his brother.

As a result, Zawicki eventually put the knife down, grabbed her phone, and hurled it at her while yelling at her to contact the police, according to Ruhle, who reported the incident to the authorities.

As stated in the complaint, Ruhle took the police to the upper floor, where they discovered three knives and a tooth on the bed.
