Foster Parents Arrested after Cops Found Child with Severe Bruising all over the Body in Indiana

A man and woman have been charged with child abuse, according to officers. The Warrick County Sheriff’s Office initiated an investigation in May following reports of severe child abuse at a residence in Newburgh.

Authorities have confirmed that Thomas Burch and Nina Shepherd have been identified as the individuals responsible for the alleged mistreatment of children under Shepherd’s care as foster parents.

According to reports, the two individuals are also facing allegations of confinement.

As per a statement, the safety of all children was promptly ensured by removing them from the home.

According to the sheriff’s office, arrest warrants were issued for Burch and Shepherd at that time.

Burch and Shepherd were taken into custody and placed in the Warrick County Jail on Thursday, June 20 as per 14News.

Burch has been charged with three counts of criminal confinement and is currently being held on a $1,000 bond.

Shepherd has been charged with three counts of domestic battery and three counts of neglect of a dependent. She is being held on a bail of $750.
