Florida Teacher and Summer Camp Worker in Broward County Charged with 10 Felonies for Child Abuse Material

An alarming accusation has been made against a middle school teacher in Broward County who is also involved with a summer camp. The individual is facing allegations of possessing child sexual abuse material.

A man was arrested by Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies on multiple felony charges, according to jail records.

Officials from Broward County Public Schools have confirmed that Womack Wedlaw was employed at Parkway Middle School in Lauderhill before the start of summer break. According to reports, he was hired in January as a science teacher.

An arrest report reveals that deputies initiated an investigation into Womack Wedlaw following a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. The tip, received in April, alleged that he had uploaded child sexual abuse material to a Google account.

Authorities discovered over 25 files of child sexual abuse material in the Google account, as well as a selfie that connects Womack Wedlaw to the account.

Officials provided details about 10 videos that allegedly show the sexual abuse of a child by an adult male of African descent.

The report does not provide any information regarding whether detectives have any suspicions about Womack Wedlaw’s involvement in the videos.

Deputies were captured on surveillance video surrounding the home of Womack Wedlaw in the Roosevelt Gardens area prior to his arrest.
