Chipley, FL- According to a statement released by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, a house in Chipley was purposely set on fire while three children were present inside.
Deputy sheriffs from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and Washington County Fire Rescue responded to reports of a house fire on Pine Log Road at approximately 10:45 a.m. on Thursday.
At the time that the fire started, three youngsters were not named inside the house; nevertheless, all of them were able to escape without any injuries.
According to the findings of the investigation, Clint Sherman Elmore, who was 33 years old at the time, intentionally set the fire inside the house.
After a short period of time, the officers discovered Elmore strolling away from the house and along the road. He is being held on allegations of aggravated child abuse and arson, which led to his arrest.
