2-year-old in Critical Condition after Mother’s Boyfriend Beat Him Mercilessly; 2 Arrested in California

Sacramento, CA- According to a statement released by the Sacramento Police Department on Friday, a man was taken into custody after a child of two years old was transported to the hospital with serious injuries. What caused the boy’s injuries is not entirely apparent.

The boyfriend of the child’s mother was brought into custody on Friday evening due to allegations of child abuse, according to the authorities, who announced that the inquiry had been conducted in great detail.

According to the statement released by the Sacramento Police Department, officers were sent to the hospital at approximately three in the morning after the youngster was removed from La Almendra Way in the Valley Hi / North Laguna community located in south Sacramento.

A statement from the police department stated that the child was in critical condition.

According to the authorities, Elbert Pritchett, who is 53 years old, was taken into custody in connection with the inquiry. With charges of violence, endangering the life or health of a child, and possessing guns, he was taken into custody and put into the Sacramento County jail.

Throughout the largest portion of the day, investigators remained in the residential neighborhood where they were working. Officers were spotted entering and exiting a residence while carrying cameras and evidence boxes. Crime scene investigation vehicles were parked outside the residence being investigated.

When authorities arrived at the residence, Sacramento Police confirmed that there were additional children present; however, they did not provide any further details.
