A lady has been sentenced to fifteen years in prison for the death of her son, who was five years old.
Nickolle Aguilar, who is 27 years old, entered a guilty plea to the charges of injury to a child with serious bodily injury by omission in connection with the death of her son, Domenic Aguilar-Acevedo, in 2021, according to the Bexar County Criminal District Attorney’s Office.
In exchange for Aguilar’s evidence in the trial against her co-defendant and ex-boyfriend, Daniel Garcia, who was found guilty of a felony that was quite similar to the one she was accused of, a plea deal of fifteen years was offered to her.
A hotel in San Antonio was the location of Garcia, Aguilar, and her son’s extended stay in the month of July in the year 2021. Domenic was struck with a large amount of force by Garcia, who had been harassing the youngster for a length of time, which ultimately resulted in Domenic’s death.

The body of the infant was seen being carried out of the hotel room by Garcia and Aguilar, as captured on surveillance technology. Following this, the couple allegedly flew to Colorado, where they disposed of Domenic’s body before eventually leaving the country, according to the investigators.
It was stated by the office of the district attorney that Aguilar did not only fail to intervene in the physical abuse that was occurring, but she also failed to seek sufficient medical care for her child later on.
When Domenic’s grandmother became concerned about her grandson and Aguilar was unable to provide an explanation for his absence, she contacted the authorities and requested that an investigation be conducted into Domenic’s death. Finally, the pair was located and taken into custody in the state of Florida.
During the trial of Daniel Garcia, Aguilar provided assistance to law enforcement in locating Domenic’s body in Colorado. Additionally, he collaborated with the prosecution and testified against Garcia in court.
Later on in this month, Garcia is scheduled to get his sentence.
