In June, authorities reported that a 15-year-old girl with autism was abandoned near a dumpster by her mother.
Natalie Munno was taken into custody on Sunday and placed in the Bexar County Jail.
In a recent affidavit, it is revealed that on June 13, Munno was captured on surveillance footage at a coffee shop. The footage shows her retrieving her daughter from the back passenger seat of her car and guiding her through the metal doors near a dumpster.
A coffee shop owner would discover her and alert the authorities. According to SAPD, the behavior of the 15-year-old was described as erratic.
According to the affidavit, Munno returned home to Bandera, and it was at this point that the girl’s grandmother inquired about the teenager’s whereabouts. Afterward, she contacted the authorities in Bandera County and submitted a report regarding a missing person.
Upon the deputies’ arrival at the residence, Munno reportedly informed them that she had contacted CPS and arranged a meeting with an individual named Sarah at Costco in order to surrender her parental rights to her daughter.

Several days later, an amber alert was briefly issued until deputies discovered that the girl had already been located by San Antonio Police.
According to the affidavit, it is alleged that Natalie was aware of her child’s inability to care for herself.
She was arrested and booked into the Bexar County jail on Sunday. She is being charged with child endangerment and abandonment, with no intention of returning.
The Bandera County Sheriff’s Office, which issued the initial missing persons report, was unavailable for comment.
