VISALIA, CA: The Tulare County Superior Court said that a man from Visalia was given life in prison for molesting a young kid.
On Thursday, May 9, in Department 4 of the Tulare County Superior Court, Visalia Division, Elijah Harris, 28, pleaded not guilty to charges involving a child under the age of ten. The court made its decision on his case.
One count of oral copulation and one count of sexual penetration involving a child ten years old or younger were among the major charges against Harris. A single female victim, 5 years old at the time of the attacks, was a victim in these cases between July and September 2020.
Under California law, both charges are felonies and strike crimes. Harris is also required to register as a sex offender for life. According to the state’s sentencing guidelines, he must spend at least 30 years before he can be considered for parole.
Supervising Deputy District Attorney Kelly Habroun was in charge of the case. Detective Leon from the Visalia Police Department was in charge of the investigation.
