Judge Throws Man in Prison after Jury found Man Guilty for Child Molestation in Florida

Palatka, FL: After being found guilty of many sexual offenses committed against a minor, Troy Armstrong, who resides in Palatka, was given a sentence of life in prison on Wednesday.

According to a press release issued by the State Attorney’s Office, Armstrong was found guilty of three charges of sexual battery against a person younger than 12 as well as three counts of child molestation against a person younger than 12 years old.

After a trial that lasted over two days, the jury decided that Armstrong was guilty. In accordance with the arrest report from December 2020, Armstrong began sexually abusing a girl when she was only eight years old.

In court, the victim reportedly testified, according to the State Attorney’s Office.

“Our victim testified before the jury and in the presence of her rapist. She is brave and strong. It is my sincere hope that she will rise above the pain she endured at the hands of the defendant and live a long, happy, and prosperous life,” State Attorney R.J Larizza said about the case in the news release.
