A man from Fort Wayne was given a sentence of twenty years in jail on Monday. This development happened after he agreed to a plea bargain over the previous month.
The initial charges against John Keesler, who is 57 years old, included two counts of child molesting and one count of disseminating material that could be detrimental to kids. In exchange for the 20-year jail sentence and the dismissal of the other counts, he was able to enter a guilty plea to one count of child molestation due to the terms of his plea deal.
Keesler was charged with assault in 2021 when a girl who was 13 years old came forward and claimed that the defendant had abused her, according to the records of the court. There was a connection between Keesler and the DNA evidence that was acquired during the investigation.
The punishment was handed down by Judge David Zent of the Allen County Superior Court after he approved the plea-bargaining deal as per 21Alive News.
It is currently being reported that Keesler is being held in the Allen County Jail.
