Wife Choked and Slammed by Husband in Mississippi; Authorities Arrested Man after Severely Injured Woman Reported Domestic Assault

Prentiss County, Missi.-

Deputy Ethan Hester of the Prentiss County Sheriff’s Department received a complaint from a victim who came forward alleging severe domestic abuse on July 27. The victim’s allegations were taken into consideration.

A report was filed by the victim stating that her husband had physically assaulted her the night before at their residence located on County Road 6011.

She said that her husband had choked her to the point where she was on the verge of losing consciousness, and she had apparent bruising all over her body, and there were marks around her neck.

She was unable to call for assistance since he confiscated her phone and other electronic devices. Moreover, she said he would not permit her to leave the house.

To provide the victim with medical assistance, the sheriff’s department requested the dispatch of an ambulance. Immediately following the delivery of her statement, the victim signed affidavits against her spouse, which ultimately resulted in the process of issuing warrants.

The house was searched by a warrant, which led to the discovery of evidence that was connected to the criminal act. Baldwyn resident Brian L. Flanagan, 45 years old, was taken into custody and charged with kidnapping and domestic violence (aggravated assault) in connection with the incident.

In the case of Flanagan, the bond was set at $150,000 by Justice Court Judge Ray Hall. Additional updates will be supplied as the inquiry continues to be carried out, and the investigation continues.
