New York City, NY- The New York Police Department reported that three women were stabbed in two separate incidents, one of which occurred inside a subway station in Queens on Sunday night.
A 23-year-old individual was attacked and stabbed several times in the upper area of the Jamaica-Van Wyck Station in the Richmond Hill neighborhood of the borough at approximately 8:30 p.m., according to authorities.
The victim was quickly transported to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center and is currently in stable condition.
The NYPD has apprehended a person of interest and is currently conducting interviews as part of an ongoing investigation.
The nature of the connection between the victim and her assailant remains uncertain.
Police reported that two women, aged 27 and 33, were stabbed in lower Manhattan near 261 Bowery, over two hours ago.
According to sources in law enforcement, the stabbing occurred as a result of a bar fight that escalated onto the street.
Police reported that the younger woman was stabbed in the back, while the other victim had stab wounds to the neck and torso.
According to the police, both individuals were transported to Bellevue Hospital and are currently in stable condition.
The NYPD has stated that a person of interest has been taken into custody, but it remains unclear whether this individual is a potential suspect or simply a witness. The investigation is ongoing.
