This Is Us fans, it’s that time of year again. Season 6 finally come to a conclusion, bringing the Pearson family’s narrative to a climax, and we’re all curious about This is Us Season 7.
After six critically praised seasons, the NBC drama has come to an end on its own grounds with a dramatic conclusion set across multiple realities.
The Pearsons’ narrative is finally over, but if This Is Us season 7 happens, there’s a chance they’ll return. The six-year run of the NBC romantic drama comes to a close with an emotionally fulfilling finale that concludes Jack and Rebecca’s love story. However, given the show’s continued popularity, there has been talking of a possible sequel.
Whereas the beloved This Is Us show has come to an end, a comeback of This is Us season 7 seems to be out of the bounds of possibility. Here’s why.
It Was Planned for Only 6 Seasons!
This Is Us Season 7 will not be renewed since the show’s creators intended for it to become a six-season series from the start.
“I believe we’re basically in the midst of where the tv show is going to go,” showrunner Dan Fogelman told The Hollywood Reporter after This Is Us got extended for seasons 4, 5, as well as 6 in 2019.

Although fans of This Is Us will undoubtedly be saddened to see the series come to an end, viewers can take comfort in the fact that perhaps the series should indeed be given a suitable finale rather than being terminated or fading over after being extended for one season far too many.
A Completed Storyline!
This Is Us has been a master at blending past and present since the beginning of the series. It provided us with memorable family experiences that made us ponder, furious, and, most importantly, cry. So while the Big Three acquired life lessons along the way, we were around to learn alongside too.
Its season 6 finale episode is a fitting conclusion, however, it focuses more on the instructive moments than the tears. So it works brilliantly, and gives a wonderful, but emotional end to the series When it premiered in 2016, the family drama had been an instant smash for NBC. This Is Us was a show that featured the lives of Jack and Rebecca, as well as their three children Kevin, Kate, and Randall.
The Pearsons‘ personal and collective journeys played out over the course of six years, depicting their life from various points of view and moments in history. Seasons 1-3 of This Is Us mostly concentrated on Jack’s past, as the life and sad death had an influence on his wife and children. Even during second part of the show’ run, the focus moved to Rebecca, who was dealing with Alzheimer’s disease in her later years.

However, Fogelman has previously stated that he proposed the idea before NBC officials, who were all enthusiastic. It’s important to note, though, that the initiative isn’t yet in the works, but it’s also a promising indication for those hoping that the Pearsons’ narrative would be continued. Yeah, it’s a cliffhanger of our reality.
A Ray of Hope!
According to Variety, Dan previously confirmed that he presented the concept of a This Is Us film to NBC officials. “What would have occurred if Jack had survived the fire,” the film would question this. “The president of NBC is really messaging me right now: ‘Yes to the movie,'” he said at the show’s last discussion first at Television Critics Association in February.
It is indeed worth noting that the project isn’t yet formally in the cards, but we’ll count our blessings. Dan explained, “I don’t say no to anything.” “If we could work out a movie, I’d like to get together again in a few years.” Since our story concludes in the season 6 finale, I’m not sure what it would be.”
Furthermore, the cast appears to be on board with a revival of This Is Us, with Mandy Moore, Sterling, and Justin all expressing interest. “I’m ready for a This Is Us film, because I love these kitties,” Justin told Access Hollywood of his cast members. “I would definitely do a trilogy film. Every year, I’d make a film with these men.”
