Texas Woman Binds 7-Year-Old with Zip Ties and Places Girl in Dog Cage Beside Christmas Tree; Arrested

Honk News – A woman in Texas has been taken into custody following accusations of restraining a 7-year-old child and confining the minor in a dog cage beside a Christmas tree for several hours, depriving the child of food and water, as reported by officials.

Authorities report that the young child was confined in a dog cage, restrained with zip ties, while the woman allegedly kicked her and sealed her mouth with duct tape, as detailed in court documents obtained by PEOPLE. The reports further claim that the child wet herself due to being denied bathroom access for multiple hours in a row.

The 55-year-old woman from Houston, Rose Anderson, faced the Harris County Magistrate on Sunday, Dec. 22, where she was charged with causing harm to a child and unlawful restraint.

According to court documents, the woman’s bond was $10,000.

The woman is presently in custody at Baker Street Jail in Houston, as indicated by court documents. Her next court appearance is scheduled for January 6.

“CPS is investigating these abuse allegations alongside law enforcement. The child is now safe in foster care, where she is receiving the care she needs.” Texas Department of Family Services Spokesperson Melissa Lanford said.

“Look for the kid that looks like he’s not acting like the others, holding back, stuff like that. The obvious physical signs of cuts, bruises, stuff like that. Fear around certain adults,” she said. She added that sudden changes in sleep, diet, and more frequent accidents are also signs.
