Iowa Park woman faces second arrest for child endangerment following disputes with boyfriends over suspected drug abuse.
Jennifer Roy is facing a new charge that accuses her of buying methamphetamine in the front yard of her home while she was holding her infant son.
CPS reached out to the authorities and shared an audio recording obtained from the boyfriend. In the recording, he expressed his concerns about Roy’s involvement in purchasing methamphetamine while in the presence of her baby.
An Iowa Park officer stated that Roy could be heard in the recording confessing to purchasing methamphetamine. However, she claimed that she bought it with the intention of giving it to a man in exchange for doing yard work at her home. According to the police, Roy’s grandmother reported that Roy confessed to purchasing methamphetamine while holding her baby.
In 2020, Roy was apprehended in Iowa Park following a report from her boyfriend, who discovered her in the bathroom with a syringe lodged in her arm.
Authorities discovered her in a state of semi-responsiveness, slouched over the toilet, with a silver spoon containing a white substance nearby.
Additionally, there were two girls, aged 14 and 9, present in the house.
During Roy’s hospital examination, authorities discovered a bottle of meth concealed under her breast.
Lab results revealed the presence of five distinct drugs in her system, along with the unexpected news of her pregnancy.
The two counts of child endangerment that were filed were ultimately dropped when a grand jury chose not to indict her.
Roy has a history of six previous arrests and a conviction for possession of a controlled substance.
