Montana Man Slept with 11-year-old Minor; Confessed Multiple Incidents of Brutal Assault in Court

A man from Lodge Grass, Montana has confessed to charges of sexually abusing a child on the Crow Indian Reservation, as stated by Montana U.S. Attorney Jesse Laslovich.

A 29-year-old defendant named Marty Edward Plenty Hawk has pleaded guilty to charges of aggravated sexual abuse and abusive sexual contact with a child, as stated in an indictment.

Plenty Hawk could potentially be sentenced to life in prison, along with a hefty $250,000 fine. Additionally, they may face a minimum of five years to a lifetime of supervised release for each crime committed.

U.S. Magistrate Judge Timothy J. Cavan was in charge.

A sentencing date will be determined by U.S. District Judge Susan P. Watters.

The court will consider various factors, including the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines when determining the appropriate sentence.

Plenty Hawk has been taken into custody and will remain detained until further proceedings.

Court documents reveal disturbing allegations against an individual near Lodge Grass on the Crow Indian Reservation. It is alleged that Plenty Hawk forced a young victim, identified as Jane Doe 1, who was under the age of 12, to participate in a sexual act and engage in sexual conduct.

Plenty Hawk was apprehended by law enforcement on May 2, 2023, following a domestic disturbance at his residence.

During his time in custody, Plenty Hawk informed the jail staff of his intention to write a confession. In this confession, he admitted to engaging in a sexual relationship with Jane Doe 1.

Examination of Jane Doe 1 revealed injuries that are indicative of child sexual abuse.

During an interview with the FBI and Bureau of Indian Affairs, Plenty Hawk once again acknowledged engaging in a sexual relationship with Jane Doe 1 and having multiple instances of sexual intercourse with the victim.

The case is being prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

An investigation was conducted by the FBI and BIA.
