Texas Man and Woman charged with Kidnapping and Organized crime in Travis County

Travis County, TX: Authorities in Travis County have uncovered an organized crime ring involved in kidnapping and possessing illegal weapons. A Dallas man and an Austin woman were arrested for their involvement in a violent event that resulted in one victim being severely injured from a beating and gunshot, according to CBS Austin.

An inquiry was initiated after the victim was found by the side of FM 969 on January 26, leading to the subsequent arrests. The victim was discovered at an unidentified location, having been severely beaten, and a ransom was requested. Following an extensive investigation, law enforcement apprehended Luis Montemayor, 56, and Alyxandra Martinez, 33, this Thursday.

Both individuals are facing serious charges, such as aggravated kidnapping with bodily injury and for ransom, as well as engaging in organized criminal activities, according to KVUE.

Law enforcement personnel conducted a coordinated arrest operation at two locations in Travis County and one in Dallas. Eugene Tae, a 36-year-old man from Austin who was already in custody in Travis County, was charged in connection with organized crime activities together with Montemayor and Martinez.

The confiscated material reveals a bleak portrayal of the illicit activities in progress. Authorities displayed a collection of weapons confiscated during the operation, which consisted of 19 handguns, a revolver, 16 long guns, a large amount of ammo, and three kilograms of crystal methamphetamine.

Additionally, items seized included almost $12,000 in cash, stolen credit/debit cards, electronic gadgets, and a stolen vehicle. Law enforcement is investigating how this network of criminal activity may involve other corrupt individuals, according to KVUE.
