Eagle Pass, TX: Customs and Border Protection officials confiscated 6.5 tons of methamphetamine in a raid in Eagle Pass, a Texas border town, as reported by the agency on Thursday.
Officials stated that the methamphetamine is worth over $117 million. This is the largest confiscation at a port of entry in a single police operation.
Authorities confiscated the items on Sunday at the Camino Real International Bridge. A tractor-trailer carrying a drying agent for piglets, as indicated in the manifest, was selected for a secondary examination. Officers inspected the truck and discovered around 13,101 pounds of suspected methamphetamine.
Methamphetamine is categorized as a Schedule II controlled substance due to its significant likelihood of causing dependency and recreational misuse.
