The Burkburnett Police Department has made public the facts on the arrest of Angel Lopez-Portillo, who formerly served as the Deputy Chief of the Burkburnett Fire Department.
Following an investigation conducted by the Texas Rangers and the Burkburnett Police Department, Lopez-Portillo was taken into custody on Wednesday, July 17, for the ongoing sexual abuse of a small kid through the use of force.
It was reported to the Burkburnett Police Department that they received a call in December 2023 regarding the sexual assault of a youngster who was in Lopez-Portillo’s care. In her statement, the victim claimed that Lopez-Portillo had sexually attacked her on a regular basis between the ages of 12 and 14, specifically between the seventh and eighth grades.
A bond of one hundred thousand dollars was recommended for Lopez-Portillo when he was booked into the Wichita County Jail.
According to the Texas A&M Forest Service, Lopez-Portillo has been placed on administrative leave with pay that will continue until a review is completed and the conclusion of the legal process is determined.
