Teenagers arrested after they crashed stolen car; Police also recovered stolen Gun in Lacey, Washington

Lacey, WA: Following a pursuit with law enforcement in a stolen vehicle, four juvenile suspects were apprehended.

The incident started at the Lacey Police Department (LPD) when the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) released a statement saying that the LPD had been called to investigate a car prowl at the Amazon Warehouse in Lacey.

Responding officers came upon a Tacoma allegedly stolen car trying to flee the scene and evade capture.

Assisting with the pursuit, TCSO officers started following the suspect’s vehicle as it swerved in and out of traffic, taking many exits from the interstate.

The criminals tried to evade the police, but the TCSO spike strips worked, and the suspect’s vehicle slammed into a gore point.

The four juvenile suspects who ran away on foot following the incident were later apprehended by four TCSO deputies, as shown in body cam footage published by the agency. All the suspects are in their teen years from 14-17 years old.

A loaded .44 revolver was discovered on the driver. The second passenger was discovered in possession of a 9mm handgun that had been taken during an earlier vehicle search by Lacey. According to TCSO, a third weapon was also in the possession of a passenger, but its serial number had been scratched off.

It was also believed that the juvenile gang was responsible for a string of vehicle prowls along that section of the I5 corridor.

Police have taken four people from the Tacoma Hilltop area into custody and are charging them with evading capture, possessing a stolen car, possessing stolen firearms, and changing the serial number of a firearm.
