A former teacher from Boston was arrested on federal charges of having pictures of sexual abuse of children that were obtained from an online contact with a 15-year-old.
The 40-year-old Quincy man Carter Peaseley was arrested on Thursday, the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Massachusetts said Tuesday. He is charged with having child pornography on him and receiving it.
It is said that Peaseley has been a teacher at both the John D. O’Bryant School of Mathematics and Science and the Match Charter School in Boston. Match has an elementary school in Hyde Park, a middle school in Jamaica Plain, and a high school in Allston. O’Bryant is in Roxbury.
Investigators say Peaseley had a relationship with the child online for about a year. He is said to have said that he planned to visit the victim.
“Peaseley is said to have told the child not to save his texts and suggested they use a different app,” They also allegedly sent each other pictures, some of which were sexually explicit pictures of the child, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Court papers say that searches of Peaseley’s phone and computer turned up nearly 250 pictures of sexual abuse of children.
Federal officials said that Peaseley was released from jail after being arrested, but he had to follow a curfew and be monitored by GPS. He also couldn’t have any contact with children without an adult present.
