Teacher Arrested for Sending Inappropriate Messages to His Former Students in New York

Tucker McKeown, a former teacher at Wellwood Middle School who is now 27 years old, was taken into custody by the Manlius Police Department on Friday, June 28, for sending inappropriate messages to two of his former students.

Using Snapchat, McKeown allegedly sent inappropriate messages to his former students with the intention of participating in sexual activity, according to the Manlius police department. According to the police, although they are still students at the school, they could no longer be considered McKeown’s students.

He is charged with:

  • Criminal solitcitiation in the third-degree, a Class E felony
  • Luring a child, a Class E felony
  • Endangering the welfare of a child, a Class A misdemeanor

According to the authorities, there was no physical contact that took place, and there have been no further victims discovered; nevertheless, the investigation is still ongoing.

According to the police, McKeown had already turned in his resignation from his teaching position prior to his detention and was planning to relocate away from the region as per LocalYR News.

A pre-arraignment hold was placed on McKeown, and he was transported to the Justice Center.
