Rottweilers Attack and Kill 5-Year-Old Girl in California, Investigation Underway as Covina Family Mourns Loss

Honk News A tragic incident occurred in Covina on Sunday, resulting in the death of a 5-year-old girl who was attacked by her family’s dogs, according to authorities.

Deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department responded to a residence in a gated community on Palomino Drive around noon on Sunday.

A 5-year-old girl was attacked by the family’s two dogs in the backyard.

The girl was taken to a local hospital by Los Angeles County Fire paramedics, where she was pronounced dead at 1:23 p.m.

Authorities report that the canines involved in the incident are a 10-year-old Rottweiler and a 6-year-old Rottweiler mix. Two additional dogs reside in the household, and all four pets have been taken away.

Authorities report that the girl had cohabited with the dogs in the residence throughout her life, with no previous incidents documented.

Another family member sustained minor injuries. The investigation is ongoing, but there are no indications of foul play.
