Alabama Man Struck Child with a Belt; Arrested as Molestation Incidents also Surfaced in Jefferson County

Last month, a man from Adamsville was taken into custody in Jefferson County on allegations of child abuse.

Johnny Lee Gober, who is 39 years old, was charged with first-degree rape, incest with a minor, and aggravated child abuse of a non-family member, as stated in the records of the jail.

The accusation against Gober is that he struck a youngster with a “belt and/or cord.”

It was around four o’clock in the afternoon that Adamsville police, Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies, and United States Marshals made the arrest of Gober at his residence in Adamsville. Chris Robinson, the Chief of Police in Adamsville, stated that there were no incidents that occurred during his detention.

According to the records filed with the court, Gober was also indicted on the cases. The bond for Gober has been set at $45,000.
