Elizabeth, Indiana: According to a press release issued by the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department, a rapper from Louisville was fatally shot and died in the parking lot of Caesars Southern Indiana Hotel & Casino at approximately four in the morning on Sunday.
Sheriff Nick Smith said in a statement that was released on Monday that LilDon Williams, who was 32 years old, passed away while attempting to escape from two individuals who were armed with guns and wore masks.
The announcement said that Williams, who was known by the stage name “Young Block,” had arrived to the casino in Elizabeth, Indiana, at approximately 12:50 a.m. on Sunday. This was after Williams had played at a concert in the Park Hill neighborhood on Saturday night.
Approximately three hours later, Williams and many other individuals left the casino. However, when the gunman met Williams in the parking lot, Williams was alone himself, according to Smith reports.
Following the incident, one of the perpetrators drove away in Williams’ vehicle, which was a black and silver 2013 Dodge Charger. The other perpetrator drove away in the vehicle that they had presented themselves in.
According to Smith, “It is believed that Williams was targeted by the masked individuals, followed to the business, and executed for reasons that are unknown at this time.” Smith also stated that the crime is regarded to be a “isolated event.”
According to Smith, the casino had never experienced a homicide in its entire 25-year history prior to the occurrence that occurred on Sunday.
During the course of the inquiry, the Indiana State Police and the Indiana Gaming Commission provided assistance.
