Parents Charged after Kentucky Deputies Discovered 3-month-old Baby Covered in Bruises

A couple is being charged with child abuse in Simpson County in connection with a 12-week-old child.

Jeremy Glen Gosnell, 35 of Franklin, and Tabitha Nicole Wood, 33 of Franklin, were taken into custody on Monday for alleged criminal child abuse.

According to indictment documents obtained by a reputable source, on or around March 6 through March 7, Gosnell and Wood allegedly committed the offense of criminal abuse, first degree – child 12 or under, when they intentionally abused their 12-week-old child.

The child was taken to T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow, according to court documents.

Furthermore, the indictments reveal that the infant displayed various injuries, including bruises to the face, forehead, and right cheek, as well as cuts above the left eye and on top of the scalp. Additionally, the infant had a total of seven broken ribs.

Gosnell and Wood face serious charges including first-degree criminal abuse of a child 12 or under, first-degree wanton endangerment, and endangering the welfare of a minor. Gosnell is facing an additional charge of persistent felony offender I.

Both individuals are still being held at the Simpson County Detention Center.
