Deputies in Bay County, Florida reported that Tiffany April Leigh Braddock, 37, was discovered wandering along a highway on Wednesday. This occurred two days after she tragically stabbed her elderly mother, Elizabeth Braddock, to death and left her body on a recliner at home.
According to authorities, the defendant showed a complete lack of remorse and even laughed while describing the details of the victim’s murder.
Law enforcement sources have reported that Tiffany Braddock was spotted walking along Highway 231 on Wednesday, as per a sheriff’s office Facebook post and probable cause affidavit. According to reports, she was reportedly engaged in animated gestures and appeared to be talking to herself.
According to authorities, Deputy Jackson inquired about the defendant’s well-being, to which she expressed her distress over having done something wrong. According to reports, Braddock allegedly made a shocking statement about a serious crime.
As per the sheriff’s office, she provided her residential address. A second deputy arrived to conduct a welfare check on Elizabeth Braddock, a 73-year-old mother.
The affidavit stated that Deputy Foster discovered the victim sitting in a recliner, deceased with multiple stab wounds, as the front door was found to be cracked open.
According to reports, defendant Braddock reportedly admitted to stabbing her mother with a hunting knife after being read her Miranda rights.
“The defendant claimed that she did not think the victim was dead, so she proceeded to stab the victim multiple times,” they reported.
According to reports, she claimed that the knife was located at her residence, specifically on a folding table in her bedroom. Authorities allege they discovered it during the execution of a search warrant.
According to deputies, the defendant confessed to killing her mother, citing a history of abuse. “According to the defendant, the victim’s alleged abuse was attributed to the use of curses, without any mention of physical violence.”
Braddock reportedly expressed her frustration with living with her mother and revealed a long-standing intention to harm her, describing the act as premeditated.
According to available records Braddock is currently incarcerated. She made her debut on Thursday and her court hearing is set for Sept. 12.
