One Dead After Road Rage Fistfight Erupts in Southern California Parking Lot

Los Angeles, CA- An investigation is underway by detectives from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department into a tragic incident that occurred in a West Hollywood parking lot. The incident involved a collision and subsequent physical altercation, which sadly resulted in the death of a man.

An incident took place in the 7900 block of Santa Monica Boulevard, at Hayworth Avenue, and was reported around 1 p.m., as stated in a LASD news release.

There is limited information available regarding the incident, and the exact details of the situation remain unknown. However, according to LASD Lt. Daniel Vizcarra, a preliminary investigation has indicated that two individuals collided in the parking lot of a strip mall.

According to witnesses interviewed by KTLA, two individuals, appearing to be in their 40s or 50s, exited their vehicles and engaged in a verbal altercation that quickly turned physical.

Sean Harrison was having lunch at the Mexican restaurant in the strip mall when the incident took place. According to KTLA’s Chris Wolfe, a confrontation between two individuals escalated when one of them unexpectedly struck the other, causing him to lose consciousness.

Both men were transported to the hospital by medical personnel due to their injuries. Unfortunately, the man who lost consciousness at the scene was later declared deceased.

Video from the scene depicted the vicinity being secured with crime scene tape while investigators diligently collected evidence near a white pickup truck and an older model minivan situated outside a 7-Eleven store.

The condition of the man who survived, and was detained by authorities for further investigation, is currently unknown.

Harrison was clearly overwhelmed and trying hard to hold back his emotions after witnessing the tragic altercation.

The identity of the two men has not been disclosed by authorities as reported by KTLA.
