North Carolina Mother Arrested after She Broke Arm of 42-days-old Infant: Sheriff’s Office

Burlington, NC- A mother from Burlington is being charged with harming her child after the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office reported that the child was sent to the University of North Carolina Hospital in Chapel Hill with a broken arm for treatment.

At the age of 24, Celine Wright is facing charges of felony child abuse.

The Orange County Department of Social Services told the sheriff’s office on June 6 that a 42-day-old newborn had been admitted to UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill with arm injuries. The hospital is located in Chapel Hill.

It was discovered by the investigators that the youngster had sustained injuries on June 2 at a residence located in Burlington. Afterward, Wright reportedly took the infant to the hospital, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

A charge of felony child abuse inflicting serious damage was brought against Wright after an inquiry revealed that he had committed the offense.

Wright was taken into custody by deputies on Wednesday. A detention facility in Alamance County is where she is currently being held by the authorities.

The Alamance County Department of Social Services has taken the infant under its custody.
