Porter, OK- An individual from Porter was taken into custody by the Wagoner County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) on August 5 for the offense of child abuse.
According to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a complaint about a domestic dispute.
Before the arrival of the deputies, the party who had reported the incident alleged that the suspect had struck and choked a 14-year-old.
WCSO ordered the suspect, Jeffery Gist, to leave the room while they conducted their investigation, and he reacted by saying, “You will have to come get me.”

Furthermore, he was requested to leave the residence in order for the deputies to conduct a check for potential weapons; nevertheless, he chose to stroll back to the bedroom instead.
Gist struggled and resisted the deputies’ attempts to remove him from the room, which ultimately resulted in him falling to the ground and hitting his face on a cabinet.
Child abuse by injury charge, obstruction of the investigation, resisting an executive officer, and assault on a peace officer are among the charges that have been brought against Gist after he was taken into jail.
