A 33-year-old man in Nevada is facing significant prison time after being convicted of a series of felony charges. He shot his fiancee in the face and brutally beat his landlord.
A verdict has been reached in the trial of Wacey John Chabot in Washoe County. The jury has found Chabot guilty on multiple charges, including attempted murder and domestic battery. The authorities have announced the verdict, which includes charges of using a deadly weapon causing substantial bodily harm.
In January of 2023, officers from the Sparks Police Department swiftly responded to a residence on Wolverine Way following a distressing 911 call. The caller, one of the victims, reported being injured by Chabot, while also revealing that Chabot’s fiancee had been shot.
Upon reaching the scene, first responders discovered Chabot outside of a travel trailer he had come across on the property.
Following the apprehension of Chabot, law enforcement officers entered the trailer and found Chabot’s 36-year-old fiancee, whose identity remains undisclosed, with an apparent gunshot wound to the face. The fiancee also sustained multiple facial fractures, including injuries to her nasal cavity and jaw.

The police reported that the landlord, a 45-year-old man, was hit in the head by Chabot with a firearm, causing a significant laceration that needed stitches according to Law&Crime.
Prosecutors presented evidence during Chabot’s trial, alleging that he deliberately enticed both victims to return to the property that evening, with the intention of causing harm to them.
According to prosecutors, Chabot entered the trailer after observing the pair and, brandishing a firearm, made a chilling statement: “all of us are going to die tonight.”
Chabot’s sentencing is set to take place on August 19, 2024, presided over by Sedgwick County Judge Scott Freeman. He could potentially be sentenced to up to 60 years in a state correctional facility.
