A 53-year-old man from Tupelo, Theron Gates, has been arrested by the Criminal Investigation Division of the Pontotoc County Sheriff’s Department. He is facing multiple drug-related charges.
He was apprehended on Saturday evening as part of the Patrol Division’s efforts to combat narcotics.
During routine patrols in Pontotoc, law enforcement officers successfully apprehended Gates. Authorities discovered that he had a substantial amount of cocaine, a large quantity of marijuana (which is considered a felony), THC-infused chocolate chip cookies, suspected Xanax pills, weighing scales, a grinder, and multiple clear baggies.
Gates has been charged by the Criminal Investigation Division with Possession of a Controlled Substance (Cocaine) with Intent to Distribute and Possession of a Controlled Substance (Marijuana). Furthermore, the Patrol Division has brought forth multiple misdemeanor charges against him, one of which is Possession of Drug Paraphernalia as reported by DarkHorsePress.
Gates was taken into custody and placed in the Pontotoc County Sheriff’s Department Adult Detention Center. The bond amount set by the Justice Court Judge is $10,000.
