Middle-Aged Man Arrested for Child Abuse and Grooming; Employed as City Clerk in Illinois

After an investigation by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, a 45-year-old man from Crystal Lake is being charged with having pictures of sexual abuse of children and harassment.

Nick S. Kachiroubas was linked to “the online enticement of children for sexual acts,” according to the McHenry County sheriff’s office. A national group that works to protect children told the police about his actions.

It has been proven that Kachiroubas is the city clerk for Crystal Lake. There was no reaction right away from city officials.

On top of his job with the city, Kachiroubas is an associate professor at DePaul University’s School of Public Service and a member of the Illinois Community College Board, as shown on their websites.

Officials said that detectives found child sexual abuse materials at Kachiroubas’ home in the 200 block of S. Dole Avenue on Tuesday after a search warrant was carried out.

The McHenry County jail is where Kachiroubas is being held until a detention hearing as per DailyHerald.

To celebrate Juneteenth, the court is closed on Wednesday. So Kachiroubas will likely see a judge on Thursday to find out if he can be freed while he waits his trial.

Kachiroubas has a Ph.D. in leadership learning and service, and his DePaul online bio says that he was a director for McHenry County College. The bio says that he has worked for many charities.
