Baton Rouge, Louisiana: Authorities in Baton Rouge have announced a significant drug bust following a tragic overdose incident.
Law enforcement officials have announced that Malcolm Hall III, 29, is facing multiple charges, including second-degree murder, about the incident.
In September 2023, the EBRSO Homicide Division looked into a case involving a fatal overdose. Authorities have reportedly identified Hall as the suspected source of supply after analyzing the phone data from the victim’s cell phone.
Deputies initiated an investigation into Hall and successfully conducted two “controlled purchases” from Hall. One of the purchases led to the discovery of pressed fentanyl pills.
On January 23, 2024, authorities apprehended Hall and searched his residence on Madison Avenue, which was close to Madison Preparatory School.
Here is what was discovered and confiscated:
- 6.6 ounces of fentanyl (approximately 1,848 lethal doses)
- 50.5 grams of methamphetamine
- 2.25 pounds of marijuana
- 46.9 grams of powder cocaine
- 3.2 grams of crack cocaine
- 2,198 dosage units of Ecstasy pills
- 1,525 dosage units of 325/10mg Oxycodone
- 2,105 dosage units of 30mg Oxycodone
- 51 dosage units of 15mg Oxycodone
- 22.5 dosage units of Alprazolam
- 3 dosage units of pressed fentanyl
- 26 cartons of THC vapes
- 3 packages of THC gummies
- 1 bottle of THC syrup
- Glock .40 caliber handgun
- Taurus 9mm handgun
- Taurus .38 caliber revolver
- Anderson Arms .556 rifle

He was taken into custody and placed in East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on the following charges:
- Second-degree murder
- Obstruction of justice
- Distribution of Schedule I Narcotics (2 counts, affidavit warrant)
- Illegal Carrying of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
- Illegal Carrying of a Firearm w/CDS
- Distribution of Schedule II Narcotics (2 counts, affidavit warrant)
- PWITD Schedule I Narcotics (2 counts)
- PWITD Schedule IV Narcotics
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
- Violation of Drug Law in Drug-Free Zone
- PWITD Schedule II Narcotics (5 counts)
As per a probable cause report, Hall confessed to discovering the victim unconscious in the restroom of her residence following the sale of pills to her the previous day.
