Tampa, FL: A Florida man who reportedly carjacked an EMS truck, took it for a joyride, and then fled the scene after crashing it was apprehended days later while attempting to avoid law enforcement, according to authorities.
A supervisor with American Medical Response (AMR) reported seeing a crash on the southbound Interstate 75 exit ramp to westbound Interstate 4 at 2 a.m. on Thursday. According to officials, the crash involved a stolen pickup truck.
One individual was observed rushing down a roadside embankment, while another stood on the road. The man, Gregory Brian McGall, leaped into the EMS van and drove away.
He sideswiped a Nissan Altima while driving, prompting a chase by Hillsborough County Sheriff’s deputies, according to investigators. They lost sight of McGall, 36, but a CCTV system inside the EMS truck alerted AMR to the incident shortly before 2:10 a.m. The automobile was discovered abandoned.

On Monday night, McGall was sighted in a Nissan Altima driven by Jerry Skidmore, 42, who had active arrest warrants.
According to video footage captured from a law enforcement helicopter, the automobile was halted by deputies at a petrol station as they attempted to flee.
McGall has been charged with multiple felonies, including criminal mischief of $1,000 or more, grand theft of a motor vehicle, burglary of an unoccupied conveyance, carjacking, criminal mischief, and aggravated assault with intent to commit a felony.
Skidmore faces three counts of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer with a deadly weapon, two counts of running and attempting to avoid a police officer, and two counts of driving with license revoked.
AMR reminded the news source that its first focus is the safety of its patients and team members.
