Man Mauled to Death by His Own Three Dogs in San Diego Park, Investigation Underway

San Diego, CA– A tragic dog attack occurred in a public park on Friday afternoon, prompting the San Diego Police Department and the San Diego Fire Department to respond.

The man was assaulted by his own three dogs in Mesa Viking Park, which is located just off Westonhill Drive, according to the San Diego Police Department. The attack occurred around midday. According to a witness who spoke to NBC 7, the man was being sexually assaulted when another individual attempted to assist him but was also assaulted.

After the incident, both victims were transported to Scripps Memorial Hospital, where the dog owner was pronounced dead, according to a spokeswoman for the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department. The condition of the second victim is currently unknown; however, it is thought that their injuries are not considered to be life-threatening at this time.

NBC 7 was informed by the San Diego Police Department that the San Diego Humane Society had taken the dogs away, however it is not yet known what kinds they are.

“Upon arrival, our humane officers worked collaboratively to locate two of the dogs [that] were still loose, and impounded a third dog that had been contained in a car,” Nina Thompson, the humane society’s director of public relations, told NBC 7. “All three dogs are now in our care for mandatory bite quarantine.”

This matter is still under active investigation.

Authorities in Covina are investigating a terrible occurrence that happened on Sunday and killed a 5-year-old girl. The youngster had been bitten by the dogs that lived in her home.

At about noon on Sunday, deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department went to a home on Palomino Drive in a gated community. In the backyard, the family’s two canines mauled a youngster who was five years old.

At 1:23 p.m., the girl was declared dead after being transported to a nearby hospital by paramedics from the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

Two dogs, one of which is a Rottweiler mix and the other ten years old, were allegedly involved in the attack, according to the authorities. There are now two fewer dogs in the home, and they were all removed.

According to the authorities, the girl had lived with the dogs in the house her whole life without any known occurrences.

An other member of the family also got some minor wounds. No signs of wrongdoing have been found thus far, but the inquiry is continuing.

During a news conference on Thursday, Albany Police Chief Eric Hawkins stated that a man was “brutally and viciously” assaulted in a backyard by a pack of nine mixed-breed pit bulls on Wednesday evening at approximately 6 p.m.

Here we have the victim: a 59-year-old male from Schenectady, New York. According to Hawkins, it is still unknown why he is in the yard, next to the dogs’ house.

The remaining animals were scattered after an officer who was present at the scene shot an adult male dog in response to the attack. Soon after, the dog’s guardian arrived, and he or she helped the cops round up the animals, according to all accounts.
