Man Apprehended after Child Molestation Victim Came forward to Report Abuse in California

Greenfield, CA- A 33-year-old man from Greenfield has been apprehended by the Greenfield Police Department on charges of child molestation.

A 33-year-old man from Greenfield, Filiberto Santiago Martinez, was arrested on Friday following reports from survivors who bravely came forward to share their experiences of abuse.

It was discovered that Martinez had a connection with the victims, who ranged in age from 4 to 7. He is currently in custody at the Monterey County Jail.

“At the Greenfield Police Department, we take allegations of sexual misconduct with the utmost seriousness,” stated the Greenfield Police Department.

Authorities are collaborating with the Rape Crisis Center, YWCA of Monterey County, and Monterey County District Attorney’s Office Victim/Witness Advocates to ensure that these delicate cases are handled with utmost sensitivity and consideration for the survivors and their families.

The department recognized the distinct difficulties presented by these cases, as they are frequently reported years after the abuse has taken place. However, detectives are highly trained in sexual assault investigations, enabling them to use advanced tools and techniques to ensure accountability.

“We strongly encourage anyone who has been a victim of sexual assault to come forward and report their abuse,” urged the department. “Remember, you are not just a victim—you are a survivor! Your courage can inspire others and bring justice to those responsible.”
