Carlos Duran and Marco Collazos informed the authorities that their once-strong bond had been severed due to a romantic entanglement in Broward County. A heated dispute unfolded at a restaurant in Hollywood, as a romantic rivalry escalated.
As per police reports, an employee of a restaurant requested Duran, 20, from Pembroke Pines, and Jorge Uribe, 22, from Davie, to vacate the premises. Collazos, a 26-year-old resident of Pembroke Pines, returned to his apartment.
The conflict did not stop there. Police officers have stated that Duran has admitted to harboring a grudge that led to a series of criminal activities. There were incidents involving attempted murders and a police pursuit.
According to Pembroke Pines Officer Danny Hidalgo’s arrest report, Duran expressed his anger and desire to cause harm to Marco.
Collazos mentioned that his dog’s noise disturbed his sleep early on Monday morning. According to the police, Duran admitted to unlawfully entering Collazo’s apartment by climbing up to a balcony and carrying a knife.
Collazos and Duran informed the police that they engaged in a struggle for possession of the knife within the confines of the apartment’s living room. Diana Macias, Collazos’s mother, had traveled all the way from Colombia to visit him.
During their altercation, Macias, 46, informed the police that she regained consciousness and made an effort to disarm Duran. Based on the police report, Duran claimed that he injured his hands and quickly left the scene.
Uribe, who was behind the wheel, patiently waited outside in a getaway car as the two swiftly made their escape. Collazos dialed 911 for assistance. A white Honda was spotted by police officers, which led to a pursuit involving Duran and Uribe.
The incident concluded with the apprehension of Duran and Uribe by Pembroke Pines police officers at a gas station on North University Drive, as stated in the police reports.
