An individual who is wanted for sexually assaulting a minor girl on three consecutive occasions is currently being sought by deputies from Ameron County.
Several counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child have been filed against Jorge Alberto Tamez, also known as Jose Tapia and “El Tomate,” according to a press release issued by the Cameron County Sheriff’s Office. Tamez is wanted for questioning in connection with these charges.
Child Protective Services attempted to get in touch with the CCSO on December 20, 2018, in order to report sexual abuse of a kid. With the use of the material that was gathered, witness statements, and forensic interviews, the investigators came to the conclusion that Tamez had sexually assaulted a girl who was 13 years old on three consecutive occasions.
According to the investigators, Tamez was a friend from a church who had begged the teen’s mother to fulfill his fantasy of being with the 13-year-old.
The interactions, which would frequently take place at the suspect’s apartment on Calle Rancho West in San Benito, had been approved by the mother with whom she had agreed to participate.
In 2018, the mother of the teenager was taken into custody for her involvement in the criminal activity. Tamez has not yet been determined.
According to the authorities, his whereabouts are still unclear; however, they have speculated that he could be in either Georgia or Mexico as reported by the Valley Central News.
