The charges that have been brought against a kid in connection with a rape investigation that took place in June involving another minor have been announced by the Rehoboth Beach Police Department.
As stated by the Rehoboth Police Department, the initial phase of their investigation started on June 19th, shortly after midnight, when officers who were patrolling the beachfront were asked for assistance with a sexual assault victim.
The juvenile victim was located by the police along Brooklyn Avenue on the Boardwalk, and they quickly transported them to a local hospital for medical treatment.
It was reported by the police that they were successful in determining the identification of the suspect; however, the suspect was no longer present in the region. Before their encounter that evening, the victim and the suspect were not acquainted with one another, as stated by the authorities.
Next, on June 28th, the authorities acquired arrest orders for the individual under investigation. The juvenile suspect willingly returned to Delaware on July 2nd, according to the authorities.
He was charged with rape in the second degree without consent as well as rape in the fourth degree without consent, all of which are considered to be felonies as reported by WBOC News.
After posting a secured bond of $20,000, the suspect was reportedly freed by the police. Additionally, the defendant was ordered to not return to Delaware for any reason other than to appear in court.
