Indianapolis, IN- An Indianapolis man has been sentenced to over 11 years in federal prison by a U.S. district judge. This comes after he pleaded guilty to the possession of child sex abuse material.
Based on court documents, Tyler Edward Davis, aged 35, has a prior conviction in Marion County for two counts of possession of child sex abuse material in August 2022.
According to court documents, David’s probation officers paid him a visit after four weeks of his probation and discovered that he possessed an unapproved cellphone, which violated the terms of his probation. This incident occurred just over a week after David had registered as a sex offender.
A probation officer discovered concerning search history on a cellphone, including searches related to inappropriate content involving underage individuals.

As per a statement from the United States Department of Justice, Davis absconded after removing his GPS ankle bracelet when the probation officer discovered and examined the cellphone.
According to court documents, a detailed analysis of the cellphone revealed a significant number of images and videos depicting sexually explicit acts involving minors, including disturbing instances of adult men assaulting young children.
“Not even one month after being sentenced to probation for possession of child sexual abuse material, the defendant began collecting more heinous material, including images depicting the graphic sexual abuse of toddlers,” said Zachary A. Myers, U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Indiana. “There is no higher law enforcement priority than protecting our children from those who would do them harm. We will continue to work closely with our partners at the FBI to hold child sex offenders accountable and removing them from our communities.”
Following his release from prison, the judge has determined that Davis will be under lifelong supervision as reported by WTHR News.
