7-month-old Baby Boy Dead after Mother Left Him in Bathtub Intentionally in South Carolina Residence

Investigators with the Homicide Unit of the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office have charged Lynda Leigh Nicole Lawson, age 28, with Homicide by Child Abuse.

This accusation was brought about when it was discovered that she had left her son, who was seven months old at the time, in a bathtub for a prolonged period without supervision, which ultimately led to his death by drowning.

The infant was taken to the hospital after the tragedy, where he continued to be kept on life support until, regrettably, he succumbed to the injury and passed away on July 24, 2024 of the following year.

Following the discovery by the investigators that the conditions of the residence were hazardous and appalling, Lynda and her boyfriend, Robert Bull Jr., were initially charged with Unlawful Conduct Towards a Child based on the circumstances.

Following the acquisition of the warrant for the homicide by child abuse, members of the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office FASIT (Fugitive Apprehension Specialized Investigations Team) arrested Lynda this afternoon.

Even though Bull Jr. was not present when the youngster drowned, he was not charged with any wrongdoing in connection with the child’s death as reported by a local news outlet.

After being taken into custody, Lawson was taken to the Greenville County Detention Center, where she is currently awaiting a hearing to see if she will be granted bond.
